This is Waimea Bay in the winter time. The same beach that holds big surf competitions. The waves in the picture are around 12 feet near shore, and up to 25 feet a few hundred yards out. I witnessed a hand full of people get rescued by life guards, it was pretty intense. These waves were deadly, I would not even dip my feet in the water.
